16-year-old high school student Kusanagi Godou was running an errand for his grandfather, delivering a magic artifact to the Witch of Sardinia, Lucretia Zola. Before concluding his errand, however, he got himself caught up in a battle between Heretic Gods and met Erica Blandelli, a 16-year-old Great Knight of the Copper Black Cross magic society. Together with her and the artifact, he managed to slay the Heretic God Verethragna; this achievement bestowed upon him the title of Campione, or God Slayer, and gave him Verethragna's divine powers. However, becoming a Campione brought Godou, who's averse to fighting and dubs himself a pacifist, the unwanted attention of both his fellow God Slayers and Heretic Gods alike. | ||
